So as I have started watching season 4, I have had more ideas about what I can do with the story. What does that mean? It means you’ll have to wait longer for it. I like to finish before I begin posting and then do final edits as I post. I think it makes it a better story overall.
But because of this new development, here is an piece from when Kinley and Derek are on their road trip.
Kinley pulled the car into the roadhouse parking lot. There were only a couple of other cars there and they all looked like they barely ran or possible didn’t. The roadhouse itself looked abandoned, but one solitary light flickering proved otherwise. The wood was aged and the sign that said “Harvey’s Roadhouse” had no lights working but one and was slightly crooked. The windows were covered from top to bottom in dust and grime, which meant no light could shine through them. But that could have been more of a choice than neglect because of the typical clientele known to frequent the establishment. Humans were usually not allowed inside and only certain creatures of the night could enter. Kinley however didn’t care. She was told that a person who conducted business here might actually be able to give her a viable lead. She was going in.
Derek was asleep in the passenger seat next her. They had been driving since 4 am and he had taken the first shift. It was now around 11 am and time to work. She punched Derek in the arm to wake him up, and he jumped in his seat, nearly hitting the ceiling of the car.
“Ow! What the hell was that for?” Derek replied and rubbed his arm.
“We’re here.” She told him.
Derek recomposed himself to a serious demeanor rather than annoyed one because he knew this was one of her last shots at finding anything. The two of them and even her cousin and uncle were coming up with nothing in regards to Kinley’s past and family history. Every record, every book, even every photo concerning her family had either been changed, destroyed or proven unreliable. Someone was really trying to cover up what they had done and they had done it expansively. According to a source of hers, the person they were looking for here had a way of making information sort of appear. No one knew how exactly and no one was willing to ask either.
“You sure you want to do this?” Derek asked.
“I’m sure.” Kinley answered. “I know what lines I won’t cross and how far I’ll go for this information. If they can help, I need them.” She replied.
Derek just nodded and started to get out the car. Kinley did the same and started to feel a pit in her stomach. This was a risk and the nerves were finally hitting.
That’s it! Hope you liked it. This part will play a big role in further development. If you haven’t read the first one here is the link!
If you wish, comment and review! I love hearing things!
